Great time visiting our local San Diego downtown cultural institution enjoying the opera! This opera is about an opera! 😉 I loved the time after the performance where we got to speak with the cast! So amazing to hear the insider thoughts of the main characters as well as those who put together the production.
Two of the best things about living in So Cal are the sunshine and fresh food! I started a garden last summer and it is still going strong! I planted a bunch of delicious things for this summer and I am already seeing the results.
I hope everyone has a beautiful day! 😃
I always love the rooftop installations at the Met! The artists and art installations are always completely different - you never know what to expect! So it was exciting to discover artist Pierre Huyghe's (b. 1962, Paris) site-specific commission for the Cantor Roof Garden on a gorgeous sunny yet crisp Fall day in NYC. Huyghe has spent the past twenty-five years experimenting across media to create ritualistic, engaging encounters with art.

I recently took a trip from NYC to Connecticut to see my best friend from college. This is the perfect time of year for a visit to see the gorgeous colors of the Fall foliage!
Fall is in the air in NYC! Finally getting a chance to wear black, boots, scarves and cozy sweaters! Quite a change from the 100+ degree weather in LA!
First stop from the airport - STEAK!! Meaty delight at the Strip House steak house restaurant on 12th Street. Love the dim lighting, red walls, and vintage images everywhere. Sharing the Porterhouse steak was amazing!
Walked through the Farmers Market in Union Square - all of the beautiful root vegetables, baked breads, fresh eggs and hot apple cider beckoned!
And topped off my first full day back in the city at a fun French Tuesdays party at downtown club "No. 8", sponsored by XL Airlines - whose CEO was there raffling off tickets for a trip to Paris! (I didn't win...)
Stay tuned for more updates!
I will be in NYC and CT this October - November. To book an appointment please email firstname.lastname@example.org . See you soon!
My artist friend and fellow NYC transplant Monique's gorgeous new house on the beach - all her own interior design provides a beautiful and serene backdrop for her paintings!

Thank you to San Diego's Museum of Contemporary Art for hosting a fun and thought-provoking evening with San Diego artist couple John Brinton Hogan and Jennifer Anne Bennett in their gorgeous home & studio space!
Jennifer is a painter and printmaker and showed us her current series on Car racing that she has abstracted through the medium of viewing them first in video. John is a photographer who has shunned his earlier hyper-focused works and has moved to super-saturated-color works where the people in the images have been replaced by glitter versions of themselves.
We also were lucky enough to see the works of art this couple has collected in their personal art collection - quite interesting! I especially loved a crater series with works all by different artists, hung together by the theme of physical impact.
Happy Earth Day!!
Did some tree pose in yoga this morning to celebrate Earth Day! 😉 The image above is a creative addition to a dead tree that fell over a few years ago - makes me smile when I drive home past this friendly face each day!
Of course in Southern California we are working hard to conserve water, and using solar panels to generate electricity from the plentiful sunshine! Tough to keep the balance when the area is also a huge agricultural capital...
Last weekend in Fallbrook we celebrated the Avocado Festival, which had nearly 100k attendees! It is great being out in the mountains with avocado groves surrounding us, and you can definitely feel the connection to nature here.
Hope you are all doing something special for the earth today!

I had a fantastic birthday back in Southern California after so many years away in NYC and Paris! So of course we celebrated with a mountain-top BBQ!
I hope everyone had a great Easter! We had a fun and sunny Southern California day. The kids let me in on their Easter egg hunt and showed me how to find all the hidden eggs. Some of the eggs were full of confetti, which everyone broke over each other's heads in a giant colorful explosion!

Out on a Tuesday night and all the spots in San Diego's Little Italy were super happening! With our 70+ degree weather even in Winter, all the restaurants had people enjoying outdoor seating, including ourselves! Live music at one of the restaurants permeated the atmosphere. Definitely recommend the area for a vibrant weeknight evening - no need to wait until the weekend!
I suppose not every "Winter" day in Southern California can be sunny and in the 70s/80s! Still beautiful however...

Mist settled between mountains.
It certainly already feels like Spring (some would even say Summer!) here in Southern California! While the East Coast is covered in snow and all of my friends' photos look pure white, we are already seeing so many colors from flowers and other plants that are happily growing in the sunshine. These pretty white flower buds on a tree at our house look lovely against the blue sky!
What fun would life be without cats?! Some mountain adventures with Bez & Bella.
Bez decides on a leather glove for a trip to somewhere cold!
Bella with lavender plants. Shall we make sachets?
Bella with local California strawberries (the best!) and California Style magazine. "C'est Cool" with Charlotte Gainsbourg.
A beautiful view on a rainy day...
